How to use a lifting sling

During hoisting operations, we sometimes encounter materials that are difficult to lift directly or components that are too scattered. In such cases, relying solely on lifting tools may not be efficient or safe. Hoisting slings can help solve these problems.

During lifting operations, sometimes we encounter materials that are difficult to lift directly, or parts that are too scattered. In these cases, relying solely on lifting tools makes efficient and safe operation difficult. Lifting slings can help us solve these troublesome problems.

Use of Crane Lifting Slings

Lifting slings provide a more convenient lifting point for heavy objects. Simply place it around the center of gravity, and you can easily lift it; when encountering scattered parts, you can use the lifting sling to fix them together for hoisting, saving the trouble of repeated hoisting and saving time and manpower. In addition, lifting slings can also play a reinforcing role, making the lifting process more stable. However, in the actual use of lifting slings, the following points must be grasped.

When operating with more than two slings, note that the slings inside the hook must not overlap or squeeze each other, and the center of the resultant force of each sling should be consistent with the center of the force of the hook.

When using slings, they are not allowed to be tied to the hook for wrapping and tying; they cannot be hung on the tip of the hook.

In lifting operations, slings are not allowed to cross or twist, nor are they allowed to be knotted or twisted. Proper sling-specific connecting pieces should be used for connection.

When lifting goods with sharp corners and edges, protective sleeves and corner protectors must be used to protect the sling to extend its service life. It is strictly forbidden to use slings on rough surfaces to avoid the sling being cut by corners or scratched by rough surfaces.

When using flat slings, because the curved part of the hook prevents the flat sling from being evenly loaded in the width direction, it is affected by the inner diameter of the hook. If the hook diameter is too small, the combination with the webbing eye is not sufficient, and the correct connecting piece should be used for connection.
